Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been together?
We met at work in December 1997, not knowing we were about to find something special. Jo brought a calm and organised way and Bill brought a mess with bad jokes. Two years later we were married, and we’ve been side by side ever since. Through every chapter, Jo still looks after everything (including Bill and his morning coffee), and Bill still brings the bad jokes.
How do you choose your destinations?
If you’re sitting around at work during your breaks dreaming of being somewhere else, you can guarantee we were doing the same. We loved playing a board game with our kids when they were growing up called “A Thousand Places to See Before You Die” which gave us plenty of ideas. As we get older, we are now seeking out more adventure to cure some of our Wanderlust. It’s a big ol’ place this planet of ours and we want to see and experience as much as we can.
Do you actually travel full-time?
In March 2026, we made the leap and left full-time work behind to focus on extended travel. These days, travel is our lifestyle, and sharing our journey with you through filming and writing helps us earn a little extra income as we go.
What did you do for work before travel?
Both of us came from long careers in finance. Jo was a travel agent in the early days before moving in to banking and insurance. Coming from a regional town in Australia Jo is super passionate about farming and agriculture. Bill was a police officer early in his career before moving into banking. Bill has always had a creative side and a love of technology, and he’s really enjoying the journey of learning the many new skills that come with content creation.
How do you finance your travel?
The simple answer is to check out some of the content we’ve shared, where we go into a bit more detail. But in short, we saved hard, sold many of our belongings, made the most of credit card points, and rented out our home. Now, we’re hoping to continue this journey by sharing our experiences with all of you along the way.
